WA Projects Overview

The North Monger project is located approximately 45km south-east of Kalgoorlie within the Eastern Goldfields of WA. The project area hosts inferred Ni and Au resources that remain open, additional drill evaluation is required to determine the full extent of the identified mineralisation. The project area also presents numerous regional and adjoining gold targets that are still at an early stage of exploration.

The project lies in close proximity to several significant gold resources and operating mills owned by some of the states major gold producers including Placer, Harmony, KCGM, and Goldfields SA. In addition a toll treatment facility is available at the Nimbus processing plant located 40km away.

The North Monger project overlie the western limb of the Bulong anticline covering a greenstone succession comprising a komatiite dominated ultramafic association that contains thin interlayered felsic tuffs, underlain by younger calc-alkaline volcanic rocks containing minor lenses of finer grained sediments.

Cortona have now secured a contiguous tenement package in the Eastern Goldfields that complements and amalgamates the northern (Black Hills - Ni) and southern portions (Wombola Dam, Wombola Pit, Bessarlie and Carillon - Au) of the North Monger project into a continuous compact land holding. Granted tenements in the district now exceed 93 sq km covering a under explored area that displays significant Nickel and Gold mineralisation potential.
