NSW Projects Overview
The flagship Majors Creek project hosts an Indicated and Inferred gold resource of 286,000oz at Dargues Reef (1.44Mt @ 6.2g/t Au). The identified ore zone, which still remains open along strike and at depth, is currently subject to an ongoing diamond and RC drilling programme designed to test the immediate parameters and mineralised extensions of the New Lode and Big Blow-Main Lodes at Dargues and also the depth extensions of Plums, 200m further east.
The Lachlan Fold Belt, an Ordovician to Carboniferous orogenic subdivision of the Neoproterozoic to Mesozoic Tasman Fold Belt System was formed by the eastern retreat of a continent/ocean type subduction zone. The region is viewed as very prospective and significantly under explored.
New discoveries by Barrick (Lake Cowal), Alkane (Wyoming gold near Peak Hill) and Triako (Hera) together with production (>100,000oz) from large Au and Au-Cu mines such as Cadia Ridgeway, North Parks and Peak highlight the untapped metal potential of the Lachlan Fold Belt in central NSW.
During the last five years the dormant gold exploration profile in NSW has been slowly expanding, the state has now emerged as Australia’s lowest mining cost producer. CRC are adequately funded and well positioned to participate in the states renewed exploration cycle with several advanced and active exploration projects centred on historic NSW producers. CRC have specifically targeted Intrusion Related Gold deposits which have large tonnage potential at significant grade.
