Company Overview
Cortona are an active, cashed up, junior gold explorer with a small market capitalisation who maintain exposure to growing gold resources that present significant exploration upside.
CRC listed on the ASX in March 2006, the over subscribed issue raised an initial $3.5M to fund exploration on several gold projects in Western Australia. During their inaugural year CRC successfully explored and gradually built-up its gold and nickel resource base within the promising North Monger Project. In July 2007 CRC purchased several prospective NSW gold properties from Moly Mines Ltd, the cash and shares deal included the acquisition of the flagship Majors Creek Project (Dargues Reef). CRC currently retain a JORC compliant resource base of 366,300oz of gold complemented by the Black Hills nickel resource.
The Board of Directors includes three geologists who are acutely focused on resource growth and project development. Cortona now hold exploration projects in NSW and WA, in excess of $10M in cash. The Company has approximately 170Million fully paid shares on issue and a dynamic team of exploration geologists operating from regional bases in Orange and Perth. The Company’s exploration objective during 2010 is to firm up and improve the existing resource at Dargues Reef and to also generate a cash flow from the Wombola deposits whilst still exploring and targeting mineralized zones and anomalous areas identified within the Company’s extensive tenement portfolio.
The healthy resource inventory is set to expand significantly during 2009, with a resource upgrade of the Dargues Reef deposit expected later this year. The company is targeting a +500,000oz gold resource by years end at Dargues.
